Studio Index is a historical overview of every artist who worked in the Rijksakademie van beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, since 1993. Registered on the building's floor plan, each artist's name appears by year and studio location used during their two-year residency.
The index serves as both archive—gridding names against institutional architecture—and speculation on ambitions, expectations, internal decision-making, and oblivion. Acquired by the Rijksakademie for continuous updates, Studio Index remains an ongoing work tracking residency memory through space.
